Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 8 ounces cremini mushrooms, sliced
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Method

Instructions
  1. Wash and trim the green beans, then slice the mushrooms into even pieces. Mince the garlic and chop the fresh herbs.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the green beans and sauté for 4-5 minutes until they start to blister slightly.
  3. Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and continue cooking for another 3-4 minutes until the mushrooms release their moisture and begin to brown.
  4. Reduce heat to medium and add the butter to the skillet. Once melted, add the minced garlic and thyme, stirring constantly for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  5. Season with salt and pepper, then toss everything together until the vegetables are evenly coated in the garlic butter sauce.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in fresh parsley and lemon juice. Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

Don't overcrowd the skillet - cook in batches if necessary. High heat helps create beautiful caramelization. For best texture, reheat leftovers in a skillet.
